Sane Politician @ Jon Stewart

Former Louisiana governor Buddy Roemer, running for President, told John Stewart last night, “…our electoral system is sick. You can’t tackle the jobs problem, the tax problem, the budget problem till you tackle the root- MONEY and POLITICS. They (politicians) spend their time getting big checks from big special interests. These special interests… corporates… write the tax code, it doesn’t work for America, jobs are being stolen from Americans, being given away in unfair trade and no one does anything. You know why? American companies have never made more money but they really don’t give a damn about rest of America.” Roemer on YouTube

Do you agree, Americans? Just how pissed are you that your jobs are going elsewhere? What are you going to do about it? You’ve already seen the jewels Obama has handed you. No other republican candidate has talked about this money-politics nexus, no one has even murmured outsourcing because they all take $$ from these companies. Did you guys read about Anna Hazare? He’s a retired army man,  a simple villager in India who, this summer, launched a wildly popular movement to end corruption in India. India is a wildly corrupt country, tops the list for black money in the entire world with almost US$1456 billion in Swiss banks (approximately USD 1.4 trillion) in black money^,according to the data provided by the Swiss Banking Association Report (2006). Indian-owned Swiss bank account assets are worth 13 times the country’s national debt, while 80% of Indians earn less than 2$ per day and every 2nd child is malnourished. At least 50% Indians have paid bribes. Can you imagine how frustrated Indians must be? They knew they had to do something.

Do you want this to happen to America too? 1 in 7 Americans is going hungry today. What are you going to do about it, Americans? Are you doing a strike anywhere? Anyone marching anywhere? What are you waiting for?

Roemer has come dangerously close to making me a republican. What a change from the dynamic duo of John McCain and his steller protege Palin. How irresistible- he, with his smoldering temper, his smug, arrogant, coated-in-white-privilege wealth, and she with her breathless enthusiasm and minuscule intellect… Ah, the good old days when the insanity of republicans was so easily on show. But Roemer? He’s toppling my apple cart. Are you going to help him topple the smug ones’ apple cart? You’ll have to step up!
