Passwords Are Out, Physical Keys Are Coming Back

Physical keys could be replacing passwords in a change that would benefit users in various ways. Facebook’s staff has already made the switch over to physical keys, and Google plans to do the same for users in 2014. The physical structure of these keys means that they can’t be cloned. Besides their use for computer logins, they could also be used to verify the authenticity of products that are susceptible to counterfeiting. Lissette Padilla and Elliot Hill discuss integrating physicality into the virtual world, in this clip from the Lip News.
