Life has a way of challenging what we believe.
Walking beside someone through the criminal legal system changed me forever. It taught me that the search for truth and the pursuit of justice are not always the same journey.
That doesnโt mean every person accused is innocent.
It doesnโt mean every prosecutor is corrupt.
And it certainly doesnโt mean every jury gets it wrong.
But it does mean our system deserves thoughtful examinationโbecause when liberty is at stake, โgood enoughโ should never be good enough.
My hope isnโt to convince anyone what to think about one particular case.
My hope is that we never stop asking difficult questions, never stop demanding integrity, and never stop remembering that every case file represents a human life.
Justice should never fear transparency.
#DueProcess #justice
#Transparency #RuleOfLaw
#PresumptionOfInnocenceJustice depends on more than verdicts.
It depends on transparency.
It depends on accountability.
It depends on the willingness to examine whether our institutions are living up to the principles they were created to protect.
Iโve learned that the hardest questions are rarely about one case.
Theyโre about the system itself.
Because if justice is to earn our trust, it should never fear scrutiny.Truth, facts, and justice should be the foundation of every criminal case. When transparency is lost, public confidence is lost with it.
