When the U.S. government declared the Mojave desert tortoise an endangered species in 1989, it effectively marked the cattle ranchers of Nevada's Clark County for extinction.

Tomorrow will be 11 years ago that I came to witness the fed-led standoff on the Bundy Ranch.

This picture is from 2 years ago when I visited the Bundy home, sat at Mrs. Carol's table, and rode the range with Cliven and his cowboys.
