The McCully/Easley Farm and Historic Barn

The property features a historic, pre-Civil War barn built on a dry-stone foundation with hand-hewn logs measuring over a foot in diameter.

The McCully/Easley Farm in Kingsport, Sullivan County, Tennessee, is a Tennessee Century Farm originating from a 1,400-acre land grant in 1790.

Lou Ann Moore, a direct descendant of the original Easley family, lives on and operates a cow/calf business across the remaining 96 acres with her husband, Tom.

The property features a historic, pre-Civil War barn built on a dry-stone foundation with hand-hewn logs measuring over a foot in diameter.

Family records suggest it was built circa 1800 by Thomas Easley, son of Stephen Easley, though structural elements indicate it may date to the late 1700s.

During the Civil War, Confederate forces used the barn fighting Yankee soldiers who attempted to seize the structure.

Tom Moore completed a multi-year rehabilitation project to reinforce the barn, integrating modern cattle-handling facilities alongside the preserved historic timber framework.
